Arguably one of the most famous hair products currently on the market, Philip Kingsley Elasticizer has a huge cult status and celebrity following. First created for Audrey Hepburn, the Elasticizer is renowned for its ability to repair hair damaged from wear and tear.
Originally designed as a salon treatment, the Elasticizer is to be used before shampooing hair and left on for 10-20 minutes.
Recommended for those with unruly, dry, damaged or chemically-treated hair, the Elasticizer leaves hair smoother, strengthened, and revitalised. Hair will feel soft and silky to the touch and be more manageable when styling.
Aware of Philip Kingsley’s huge cult following, I was very excited to try this product especially as my hair is the 'ideal candidate' for the Elasticizer: heavily bleached, heat damaged and prone to split ends.
Although I have not used a pre-shampoo treatment before, it was very easy to apply. I simply dampened my hair and then massaged the product into the mid-lengths and ends, steering well clear of my roots which can lean on the oily side if over-moisturised.
After leaving the treatment in for 20 minutes, I followed with my usual shampoo and conditioner.
My hair was noticeably easier to comb, whereas usually I have to brush through knots and tangles for at least a few minutes. Once dry, my hair did not produce fly-aways or static when I straightened it (as it normally does) and it was noticeably more silky and glossy. My hair did not frizz or become static despite it being a miserable day which is a definite result!
All in all I will absolutely be using the Elasticizer again! Product Information
